Site Specific Painting
Created to span the overhead length of a wall, like a frieze, my painting, Sisterhood (2019), was commissioned by a private collector for a guesthouse associated with an historic North Fork artist colony. Its procession of free-form stained rivulets and blooms in indigo, rosy mauve, spring green and straw-yellow paint is composed of cut and sewn canvas panels. Much of the painting is light, open, raw canvas. The house’s redesign is now complete and the painting is installed. It faces east where the sun rises above the expansive horizon of a nearby body of water.
